Grade 1

Week of March 29 – April 2

Hello Grade One Families!

I hope that everyone had a restful Spring Break with time to be outside and make memories as a family.

This week is Holy Week. Beginning today with Palm Sunday, we are given the opportunity to reflect on the immense love that Jesus showed for all of us; from gifting us with the Mass and Holy Orders, to ultimately sacrificing Himself for our sins so that we can have eternity in heaven with Him.

Reflecting and learning more about the events and meaning of Holy Week will be our main focus this week. We will also begin exploring matter in the forms of solid, liquid and gas, continue our addition and subtraction number talks, as well as write a paragraph about the season of spring.

This week as we return from Spring Break, I would strongly encourage you to review with your child your expectations for wearing their mask at school. We will be going over our school protocols as a class on Monday morning as well. Mrs. Ong has sent the health form that must be completed on Monday morning. Please send in the completed health form with your child on Monday morning and I will collect it as each child enters the classroom. Just a reminder that on subsequent mornings, the health check is to be done at home and you are not required to submit the form.

Please note the following for this week:

Monday

  • health form to be submitted upon arrival in the classroom
  • PE class

Tuesday

  • return Mite Boxes to school with donation for the seminarians inside
  • PE class
