Grade 1

Week of January 4 – 8

Hello Grade One Families!

Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a joyful Christmas season! As we begin this new year, I wish you all a 2021 that is centred around faith and family, and rooted in the hope and light of the Lord.

Thank-you very much for your Christmas gifts and cards! We always save everything to open on Christmas Day and it brings us a lot of joy!

This week, we will focus on having a successful transition back to life in the classroom. It will be exciting for the students to be back together again and there will be many stories to share. We will review classroom expectations and routines, get back into the swing of our daily schedule, and introduce some of the new topics that we will be exploring together. In next week’s blog post, I will give an overview of our learning questions for the next few weeks.

Hopefully you have had a chance to read the email that Mrs. Moorehead sent out on Sunday morning. Please ensure that your child has their mask ready for Monday morning. Just a friendly reminder that if your child is in the first group, their arrival time is between 8:30am and 8:45am; and that students in the second group should strive to be at school by 8:55am so that they are ready to begin at 9:00am. Finally, the health form only needs to be submitted to me on Monday January 4 (or the first day that your child attends school after the Christmas break). On every subsequent day, please go through the checklist at home before bringing your child to school. If your child exhibits any of the symptoms, please keep them at home. Thank-you so much!

Please note the following for this week:

  • students must submit their health form to me upon their arrival in the classroom
  • PE class

  • PE class

  • PE class

  • no PE class

  • PE class
  • Fukuroku hot lunch for those who ordered (please send cutlery!)

Please email me at if you have any questions or concerns.

I am looking forward to seeing the students tomorrow!

Have a wonderful week!

Mrs. Kelly 🙂
