Grade 1

Week of January 11 – 15

Hello Grade One Families!

There was so much wonderful energy in the classroom during the first week back after the Christmas holidays. The students were so happy to see each other and were very eager to get right back to learning.

Here are some of the questions that we will be exploring this month:

How can I help myself to be safe?

What are the common elements in a story (characters, setting, plot, problem, solution)?

How can I share ideas about one topic? (paragraph writing)

Why are numbers important? How can they be composed and decomposed? What are some patterns that numbers follow?

How are light and sound helpful? How can they be changed?

What is a community? What are the components of a community? How can we be involved in our communities and how can we affect our communities?

I am looking forward to the wonderings and ideas!!
