Week of February 25 – March 1

Hello Grade One Families!

I hope that you all had a great weekend!

Last week I noticed that there are still many school library books that have not been returned. These books are now overdue. If you have a school library book at home please return it on Monday. Thank-you!

On Monday, as part of our unit “We Belong the Community of Richmond”, the students will be bringing home a sheet entitled: Can you spot it in Richmond? . As you and your child are going around Richmond doing your daily activities, students will record particular things that they see such as a park, grocery store, bank, fire station etc. If something is not on your regular routes, please do not feel that you have to drive by, but if you would like to make it a family project for the week to spot everything then go for it!! It is very important that the students record the places as they see them, not just check them off because they have seem them previously. The sheets are due back to school on Monday March 4. Thank-you!

On Wednesday it is Pink Shirt Day. Students are asked to wear pink shirts to remind us all of the importance of kindness in our daily life. There is no monetary donation needed on this day.

We finally have a five day week again! Please note the following:

  • PE class
  • hot lunch for those who ordered
  • Monday sharing group presentations

  • PE class
  • Tuesday sharing group presentations

Wednesday ~ Pink Shirt Day!

  • non-uniform day – wear a pink shirt please
