Hello Grade One Families!
I hope that you have all had a great weekend and some time for relaxation.
Last week, as we began the season of Lent, the students had lessons about why Lent is forty days long and what we are trying to do during the season of Lent. This week, we will continue to discuss how we can change our hearts to be more like Jesus during these forty days and hopefully beyond. We will also begin learning about the Stations of the Cross as a way of walking with Jesus during the season of Lent. We will focus on the first four stations this week.
On Tuesday it will be the 100th day of school! As I reflect on the first 100 days of school, I once again have to admire and praise the students for so willingly adapting to wearing masks, cleaning their hands frequently, being patient in line, playing in their play zones to name a few of the changes this year. They are a lively bunch with so much to share and an true appreciation for being together.
On Wednesday it is Pink Shirt Day. It is a non-uniform day for the students to come to school wearing pink shirts (and casual pants) to bring awareness to anti-bullying. We will spend time during the day on various activities to address this theme.
Please note the following for this week:

Tuesday ~ 100th Day of School!

- while we do some activities for the 100th day of school, the students do not need to bring anything from home
