Hello Grade Five Families!
Last Sunday, it was mentioned that this is the shortest Advent in the liturgical cycle because it is only three weeks long. The first two weeks certainly seem to have flown by and we are now approaching the third Sunday of Advent – the Sunday of joy. There was certainly an abundance of joy in Grade Five at times this week as Christmas approaches. Let us all strive to keep our focus on preparing for the joy of Jesus’s coming at Christmas as we journey through this last week of the 2023 Advent season.
There are some important items to note for the last week of school before the holidays. Please note the following information and email me if you have any questions.
Monday
- library books are due and students will be allowed to take out books for the two week holiday break
- there is no PE class due to afternoon rehearsals for the Christmas Concert
Tuesday
- students come to school at the regular time in the morning wearing their uniforms
- the matinee performance of the Christmas Concert will begin at 1:00pm in the gym
- after the afternoon performance, the students will change back into their school polo shirt and will wear that home along with their dark pants/skirts
- at 6:10pm the students need to be back at school wearing their dark pants/skirts and a shirt of their choice – they will change into their green t-shirt when they arrive at school
- after the evening performance, the students will return to the classroom to pick-up their jackets, shirts etc. and you can meet your child at the classroom door to take them home
Wednesday
- PE class ~ PE strip is needed
- Rocco’s parents are providing a pizza lunch for the students in celebration of his birthday ~ please send snacks and a water bottle as usual
- we will have our last Buddy Activity before Christmas in the afternoon
Thursday
- please join us for the school Mass at 9:15am in the Church
- PE class ~ PE strip is needed
Friday
- students may come to school wearing Christmas sweaters and/or Christmas colours
- please join us for the Assembly at 9:00am in the gym
- dismissal is at 12:00pm
