Jesus is risen!
Jesus is risen indeed!
Hello Grade One Families!
Happy Easter! I hope that you were able to celebrate the joy of Easter as a family this Sunday and that we can all hold the hope and joy of Jesus’s resurrection as we continue through these fifty days of the Easter season.
As we more fully enter into the third term of Grade One this week, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support of our special school protocols that are in place in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic. It is so important that we all continue to work together to keep everyone safe and healthy during this challenging time. As requested at the beginning of the school year, all of the students should have a second mask that is kept at school in case they need to change their mask during the day. I keep all of these masks in a separate basket and distribute them as needed. If your child comes home wearing their “extra” mask with their used one in a plastic bag, please send in a replacement the following day. I have emailed all of the families whose children have not yet returned their “extra” mask. Thank-you!
During this month of April, we will be exploring some new topics including:
~ Easter and the Mass
~ making inferences about plot and characters
~ finishing some work on addition and subtraction
~ financial literacy
~ what properties of matter make it useful
~ changes in our community and technology over time, and the effects of these developments
~ simple coding (always a Grade One favourite!)
I am looking forward to facilitating the children’s thinking and wondering about all of these topics as we continue our learning journey together!
Please note the following for this week:
Monday ~ Easter Monday
- no school
- PE class
- PE class
- no PE class
- Class Photo Day ~ students need to be wearing their complete school uniform and hair accessories must match the uniform (blue, yellow, black, white)

Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Kelly 🙂
