Grade 1

Week of April 29 – May 3

Hello Grade One Families!

As I said on the ClassDojo class page, the students showed so much joy and enthusiasm while guiding you around the classroom on Friday during the Student-Led Conferences. They took ownership of the day and worked very hard to get ready. Congratulations everyone!

Hopefully, you have all received the permission form for our field trip to Britannia Heritage Shipyards. Please consider joining us for this fun and informative morning as we learn more about the history of working on the waterfront of Steveston. In class, the students are currently exploring developments that have occurred over the years in neighbourhoods, transportation, communication, homes and schools.

On Tuesday, the Grade 5 class is having a bake sale for local charities as part of their Christian Education outreach component. The Grade One class will visit the bake sale on Tuesday afternoon so please consider sending a twonie or two with your child on Tuesday in support of our Grade 5 class. Thank-you!

Finally, we congratulate Ms. Ramirez and Mr. Teodosio on their celebration of the Sacrament of Matrimony on Saturday April 27! I told the Grade Ones that we will start practicing saying “Mrs. Teodosio” so that they will be all ready for September!
