Grade 1

Week of April 26 – 30

Hello Grade One Families!

It was fantastic to see so many of you at school yesterday! The excitement of the children and the smiles on everyone’s faces brought energy and joy to the day. Thank-you for following the protocols so carefully and being prompt for your child’s conference. I am sure that the students who did their student-led conferences at home had fun too!

I cannot believe that we have already come to the end of April; although, with the warm days last week, it did feel as though summer is just around the corner. It looks like the weather for the upcoming week will be more typical for this time of year so please make sure that your child has a jacket and boots as needed throughout the week. Thank-you!

I have noticed over the past couple of weeks that there have been fewer students recording books on RAZ KIDS for home reading. This is very typical for this time in the school year. It is good practice for the students to become used to doing some homework from St. Paul School in their daily home routine. Even if your child is not reading or recording on RAZ KIDS, please have them read something during a dedicated reading time everyday (including at least once on the weekend) at home. They are welcome to continue to record on RAZ KIDS everyday, but at least three time per week please. Thank-you!

Please note the following for the week ahead:

Monday

  • PE class

Tuesday

  • PE class

Wednesday

  • PE class

Thursday

  • no PE class

Friday ~ Jersey Dress Down Day!

  • students do not wear their uniform today ~ they may wear a sport’s jersey (professional team, personal team, school Spirit Wear, school PE t-shirt) along with jeans, athletic pants etc.
  • please send a minimum $2 donation for the Catholic Charities of the Vancouver Archdiocese
  • there will be PE class, but the students will just wear the clothes they wear to school

Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a super weekend and week ahead!

Mrs. Kelly 🙂
