Home/Week of April 12 – 16

Grade 1

Week of April 12 – 16

“Let us be renewed by the peace, forgiveness, and wounds of the merciful Jesus. Let us ask for the grace to become witnesses of mercy. Only in this way will our faith be alive and our lives be unified. Only in this way will we proclaim the Gospel of God, which is the Gospel of mercy.”

                                                                                                                                   – Pope Francis

Hello Grade One Families!

As we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday today, let us reflect on this quote from Pope Francis’s homily. We are beyond blessed to be the recipients of Jesus’s mercy and are called to live our faith by actively showing this mercy to others.

On Friday the Grade One students had their first class photo taken! They were very good listeners, kept their bodies still, and their smiles wide!

Please note the following for this week:

Saturday April 17 ~ registration opens for student-led conferences

  • conferences will be on Friday April 23 in lieu of regular classes
  • please see the email sent by Mrs. Ong for more details (and my follow-up email sent last week as well)
  • please arrange childcare for younger siblings as they cannot attend the conference with you
  • these are student-led conferences so I am there to support and facilitate as needed, but we will not be meeting at that time to discuss your child’s progress because this is the time for your family to celebrate what your child has been up to recently in the classroom 🙂
  • these conferences are optional for in-person attendance and I will send home a package with those students whose families choose not to attend
  • if you choose not to attend, please let me know by Monday April 19 ~ thank-you to those families who have already let me know!

Please email me at if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a fantastic week!
Mrs. Kelly 🙂
