Tuesday, February 14 VALENTINE’S DAY
- Dress down day; your children may wear red or pink or white play clothes
- If you send Valentine’s Day CARDS for the class, please ONLY sign the card with your child’s name, please DO NOT address the cards
- We will ensure the cards are all distributed (you can imagine the challenge if we have to sort 31 X 31 cards by recipient name!!)
Wednesday, February 15 HUNDREDs DAY
- This is a very special day in the Primary classrooms
- In Kindergarten, we will celebrate in the class with some fun activities to acknowledge that we have been in school for 100 days
- As a part of the celebration we ask that each family work with their Kindergarten child to make a collection of 100 items that their child can bring to school and we can display; work on sorting and counting your project WITH your Kindergarten child
- Some examples: 100 cheerios on a string to make a necklace; 100 fingerprints; 100 stickers; 100 drawings such as a happy face; 100 pennies in a jar…the choices are endless. You can display your items on a poster board or whatever creative manner you wish
- The 100 items DO NOT have to be the same
- Your child should be able to explain to his/her classmates how the 100 items were sorted, counted and displayed
- The project should not create an expense for you
