 Hello Grade 6 Families:

The students did a great job on their French oral presentations this week in front of our school evaluators. I was very proud of each and every one of them. Félicitations les amis!

Homework for this weekend includes:

LANGUAGE ARTS:

1. Read 30 minutes both quietly and out loud, fiction and non-fiction

2. Advent proposal - ongoing: Due date - Dec. 15

MATHEMATICS:

1. Review multiplication tables

2. Two line graphs due Monday

LE FRANÇAIS:

1. Les Traits de Personnalité - due Tues. (fine-line, colorie, write a sentence). Refer to livre pg.18

SCIENCE:

1. Come with research information on Monday

2. Prepare a bibliography as you go through your research

SOCIAL STUDIES:

1. Principles of Good Governance - due Tuesday. Write a sentence to explain your picture; fine-line and colour your drawings

ART:

1.Mind map on Alexander Calder. Refer to Tony Buzan's video with regards on how to create an effective mind map.

The Nuytco Research Place was amazing. I liked that the kids asked good questions. It showed that they were curious and interested in deepening their understanding.

I can't believe we're almost at the end of November. Where did the time go? The intermediate choir did an incredible job singing Cecilia and Halleluia today during assembly. I can't wait to see the Christmas performance.

 Today's Remembrance Day Assembly was so beautifully done. I enjoyed hearing our 2 official languages, the beautiful music and singing of Dona Nobis Pacem, the letter reading all at once - very effective and the reverence observed by all.

We just finished our 11 km walk and I'm so proud of the children for finishing strong although a bit tired and hungry. I am so honoured to be part of such a welcoming and warm school community. It definitely takes a village to raise a child.
