I hope you get some time to sleep in this weekend. I look forward to growing in my profession as all the teacher's at St. Paul School attend a Super Conference for 2 days downtown. 

Homework for this weekend includes:

LANGUAGE ARTS:

1. Read 30 minutes quietly and out loud everyday

RELIGION:

1. Unit 1 Summary due Monday

2. Group work due Monday

MATHEMATICS:

1. Review percentages

LE FRANÇAIS:

1. Know La Comptine des Amis for Tuesday

SCIENCE:

1. Extreme Environments project - read books to get good information and take notes as you read. Due Monday.

SOCIAL STUDIES:

1. Good copy on Residential Schools due Monday

ART:

1. Draft on Bad Hair Day due Wednesday in sketch book. No colouring please.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

1. Check PE Blog for games and practices

2. Workshop: Social Media Awareness and Parenting in the Digital World - Monday, October 23 at St. Joseph the Worker @7pm

It has been a short week but a very busy one also. We celebrated two birthdays today (Lexie and Kristin) and are truly grateful for all of God's many blessings.

Homework for this weekend includes:

LANGUAGE ARTS:

1. Read everyday both silently and out loud for 30 minutes

SOCIAL STUDIES:

1. Read books and gather information on Residential Schools. Your best friend is a librarian.

ART:

1. Finish "thank you" trees - due Wednesday

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

1. Scholastic orders due: Oct. 19

2. No school - Friday, Oct. 20

3. Parent Information Evening at St. Joseph the Worker Church @ 7pm - Monday, October 23

4. Register for 3 way conference on Oct. 20 from 9-10am. See note that was sent home with your child today on how to register.

We have just finished a great fun run at Garry Point with the students at St. Joseph the Worker. The children did a wonderful job with their runs. None of this would have been possible without the support of parents. Thank you for all that you do.

 Dear Grade 6 Families,

We just finished our 11 km walk and I'm so proud of the children for finishing strong although a bit tired and hungry. I am so honoured to be part of such a welcoming and warm school community. It definitely takes a village to raise a child.

This week has just flown by. The children are into routine and are starting to get into the rhythm of how things work in grade 6. It was lovely to see you during Meet the Teacher Night. If you have any concerns/questions/requests please do not hesitate to contact us.

1. Worksheet on Extreme Conditions due Monday. Try to come up with at least 16.

We have made it through an entire week. I was very pleased with how the grade 6 class took on the responsibility of being our school leaders as the grade seven students were away at Outdoor Ed.

1. Vacation of a Lifetime - complete planning and calculations by Monday, Sept. 18.

LE FRANÇAIS:

1. Coding handout coloured for Tuesday

2. Les Saisons et la Météo assignment - fine-line and colour (due Thursday)

SCIENCE:

1. Extreme Environment vocabulary due Monday

ART:

1. Pictures for silhouettes are due on Wednesday. Use ALL ABOUT ME handout as your guide.

RERMINDERS:

1. Hot Lunch Orders - due Monday, Sept. 18

2. Meet the Teacher Night and AGM Meeting: Tuesday, September 19 @ 7pm in the gym

We had a wonderful first few days back. The children got to meet their kindergarten buddies and have enjoyed playing with them during recess. Throughout the year, the children will continue to grow in their faith, as well as in their learning.
