 Hello Grade 6 Families,

We had so much fun testing out our rocket racers this week. We made some adjustments by making them lighter or faster. Two groups had success in making their racers go over 6 metres. Bravo les amis!

Homework for this weekend includes:

LANGUAGE ARTS:

1. Read 30 minutes

2. Good copy of Dialogue typed or written (due Tuesday)

MATHEMATICS:

1. Complete pg.213 #6 and 7 (due Monday)

2. Show What you Know pg. 240 #1 and 2 (due Monday)

SCIENCE:

1. Summary of Newton's Second and Third Law of Motion and how it applies to our rocket racers (due Monday)

SOCIAL STUDIES:

1. Come with researched information on your category - Why Can't They Vote? (due Tuesday)

Make sure references follow proper procedure. Refer to your handouts.

REMINDERS:

1. Random Acts of Kindness every day

The week has come and gone so fast. I'm excited to see them perform their skit for French 'Le Nouvel Ami'. I've seen alot of effort put into memorizing their lines. Bravo les amis!!

RELIGION:

MATHEMATICS:

 Hello Grade 6 Families,

The students started the beginning of the week with a fun Science workshop entitled: Newton in the park. The students were put into different groups and had an opportunity to create their own roller coasters. We were all laughing and cheering with great enthusiasm to see if the marble would land in a cup of water.

Homework for this weekend includes:

LANGUAGE ARTS:

1. Read 30 minutes

2. Read story over with expression: Round 1 #1-16 (Monday); Round 1 #17-31 (Wed.)

MATHEMATICS:

1. Sign test - Mon.

2. Five types of angles - memorize for Monday

LE FRANÇAIS:

1. Une courtepointe de mon amie: Présentations lundi. Memorize your 3 lines.

SOCIALS:

1. Review Youtube video on Tony Buzan Mind mapping. Mind map pg. 10-11 from Socials textbook (Global Issues and Governance). Use lots of colour. For the boys that left early for the basketball custodio - tape 2 sheets of 8.5 x 11 together. Due Monday

I've noticed that a lot of students, teachers and our principal have definitely caught a some kind of flu bug. Please rest up, stay warm, wash your hands and get bettter.

 Hello Grade 6 Families,

I hope you get a chance to enjoy the snow with your children this weekend. The grade 6's are outside right now with their kindergarten buddies making snowmen. What fun!!!

1. Practice multiplication and division drills on Edmodo for 15 minutes every day

LE FRANÇAIS:

1. Bring local paper on Thursday (BC Catholic or Richmond News)

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

1. Christmas concert - Tues. Dec. 13. Students should be at school at 6:20 pm.

2. Dress down day Friday, Dec. 16. Wear your Christmas sweater, red or green clothes. No donation is required.

3. Noon dismissal on Friday, Dec. 16

 Hello Grade 6 Families,

The students have been busy working on their technology project over the last few days. I am really pleased with their hard work. Make sure they take some time to practice presenting their research with good expression.

Homework for this weekend includes:

LANGUAGE ARTS:

1. Read for 30 minutes every day

MATHEMATICS:

1. Practice mulitiplication and division drills on Edmodo and on take home paper. Be ready for Tuesday

2. Quiz - one step Equation (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) on Monday

LE FRANÇAIS:

1. Write the song être as best you can. Due Tuesday

SCIENCE:

1. Use cue cards to write 3 important points or interesting facts on technology project and reflection part.

2. Practice in front of the mirror or in front of your favorite stuffed animal. Use lots of expression. Refer to rubric.

3. You are the expert on your topic. Show me that you know a lot of information. Presentation is Monday

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:

1. Costumes for play is due Dec. 5. Please put costumes in a plastic bag with name on bag.

2. Gifts for "The Living Room" is due on Wed. Dec. 7.

3. Cut out ART shapes for Wed.Dec. 7.
