Homework:

Religion: please practice your part for assembly if you have one for this Friday / pg. 129 last two questions - be prepared for parable skit on Monday morning 

Language Arts: Reading Log 15 minutes - due tomorrow / C-Skills Unit 16 due tomorrow

Math: pg. 130 #2 a,b,c - on grid paper, #7,8 in notebook due tomorrow / Assessment #3 in class on Friday - practice at home

Health and Career: 1ST DRAFT for formal letter to government in draft books due tomorrow / weekly activity log due tomorrow

Science: brainstorm list of earth's resources for tomorrow / 8.1,8.2 due Monday

Computers: Sable Island Brochure - finish 6 topics with research collected under each subheading and have printed out for Monday if not completed in last class

Grade 5 and Grade 2 Assembly this Friday @ 9am

DARE Program will begin this Monday afternoon

Please arrive at 7:30am in the covered area next Tuesday morning for skiing.

NO PE tomorrow (Friday) as we had skiing all day last Monday. Next week, there will be no PE on Monday as we will have skiing on Tuesday.

Math: please sign Unit 3 Test and return to school tomorrow

Health and Career: read 5 pages about energy drinks for background knowledge, later this week you will write a formal letter to the government

Language Arts: Reading Log 15 minutes (optional) / C-Skills Unit 15 due tomorrow / DRAFT of Christmas Vacation persuasive writing due tomorrow - please edit tonight with one person at home if possible 

Science: 7.1 / 7.2 / 7.4 / Unscramble / 7.5 questions due tomorrow / presentation worksheets due tomorrow

Reminders: ALL Snow Passes (if you ordered one) are due by Friday, no later (this eliminates the wait times on Monday at Grouse Mountain for purchasing lift tickets). Thank you. 

Also, please remember the priority of what homework to do first tonight that you wrote in your agenda.

Dear Grade 5 Parents and Students,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful and joyful Christmas. Thank you for the goodies and treats I received, they were enjoyed over the holidays. Term Two is gearing up to be quite a busy one! It is only ten weeks until the March Break!!!

During the next few weeks we will be skiing at Grouse Mountain on January 9th ,17th ,30th, and on February 8th. Thank you to those parents who are volunteering to join us. Let's pray for snow and good conditions. I look forward to seeing you there!

On January 16th, we will begin our 8 week DARE program with Constable Sangha from the Richmond RCMP. It will conclude with a DARE Graduation (date still to be set), where parents will be invited to join us.

January 13th will be the Grade 5/2 Assembly. Please join us to celebrate the Gospel for that upcoming Sunday. 

Don't forget our Feast Day Mass on January 25th at 11:00am. Dismissal will be at 1pm. Also, the Feast Day Holiday is January 27th. 

Homework:

Math - 5 definitions of terms in notebooks - referent / perimeter / area / volume / capacity 

Language Arts - Reading Log - 15 minutes - due tomorrow / C-Skills Unit 14 due tomorrow / 4 Square for Christmas Holiday (persuasive writing) due tomorrow 

Dear Parents,

A consent form was sent home today for our field trip next Wednesday, November 2, 2011. I apologize for the short notice but an available date just opened up yesterday. We will be going to the Vancouver Airport to conclude our Socials Mapping Unit and to preview some other Socials topics for the year. I am kindly requesting at least 5 parent volunteers to join us for all day Wednesday. Bring your walking shoes as we will be walking to and from Brighouse Station! Please indicate on the consent form if you will be able to join us. Thanks so much in advance.
