June 19 - 23

Dear Grade Four Families,

What a memorable week we've had at school this past week!!!  From the surprise visit of Trevor Linden and Fin on Monday, to the vocations talk and visit of Fr. Rodney on Wednesday, to our SUNNY year-end celebration at South Arm Pool on Friday!  The kids had such a blast, and it will be remembered as the best week ever in Grade Four!

I want to thank everyone who was able to make it out on Friday.  The kids had the whole pool to themselves, and many of them went down the waterslides multiple times. Thank you also for the delicious lunch.  Our setup by the pool was the best!  Thank you, Mrs. Maria Dy, for organizing such a wonderful day for all of us.

Parents, words cannot express my gratitude for all that you do for us.  Thank you for making this such a fun and memorable year.  I'm so thankful to have taught this fantastic group of kids again (and I'm not being biased because of Kayla...haha)!  I will truly miss them very much.  Thank you for the gift card to Richmond Centre as well.  I will definitely enjoy shopping over the summer break!

Dear Grade Four Families,

We had a great time at Fort Langley yesterday!  The students participated in the Fur Trade Challenge in an "Amazing Race" style event.  The students traveled around the fort in their bragades, gathered information or worked together on various activities, and collected tokens from their learning!  Many students thanked me for the field trip and told me how much fun they had!    At the end of the day, the students were given a souvenir token.  They were told that if they return to Fort Langley again, they would be able to trade their token with the blacksmith.  He would give them whatever he makes that day!   Thank you to all the parents who came along to help supervise the students.  I hope you enjoyed the experience as well.

Hello Grade Four Families,

On Friday, we had a wonderful assembly in honour of Mrs. Koop!  We all dressed up as our favourite fictional character to show Mrs. Koop how much we appreciated her time at St. Paul School as our school librarian and teacher's aide for the past 25 years.  We wish her all the best in her retirement!  We don't have to feel too sad because Mrs. Moorehead announced at the assembly that Mrs. Koop still wants to come back next year as a volunteer! May 15 - 19

Dear Grade Four Families,

I'm sorry I wasn't able to blog last weekend.  It was a busy time for my family as my youngest sibling, Julie Ann, got married to Patrick Guevara (Miss Guevara's older brother) last Saturday.  We also had 35 family members fly in for the special day from the Philippines, California, and New Jersey.  It was a wonderful time and it was nice to catch up with my many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

We also had lots of fun in class this week.  We celebrated Fr. Mark's birthday on Thursday.  We gave him a special card, a birthday blessing, and sang to him with joy and enthusiasm.  I think he really enjoyed it!  On Friday, we spent our PE time playing outside since Mr. Kelly was sick.  I'm so glad I was able to capture some awesome pictures of the students.  You can find it posted on our Class Dojo.  Finally, we prepared something special for Mother's Day.  Moms, I hope you really enjoy your present.
