Nov. 27 - Dec. 1

Dear Grade Four Families,

Our field trip to Fort Langley was the highlight of the week!  The kids participated in the Fur Trade Challenge and were divided into 3 bragades.  In each bragade, they had a guide, a reader, and a banker.  The kids went to each station to explore, learn, and work together.  When they finished, they checked in with Andrew (our facilitator) and answered the questions he asked. The kids earned tokens for correct answers, for working together, and for good behaviour.  At the end of the challenge, we learned that our school broke the 8 month record for the most # of tokens earned.  The previous record was 93, and one of our teams earned 105 tokens!  Way to go, Crusaders!  I'm so proud of you!!!

Nov. 13 - 17

Dear Grade Four Families,

On Friday, our Remembrance Day ceremony was a beatiful tribute to all the fallen soldiers and veterans who fought so bravely during the war so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today in Canada.  The Grade 7 class did a remarkable job in leading this ceremony.  Mr. Kirkham's father was also there to play several beagle calls and tunes on his trumpet. It was simply beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed your 4 day weekend.  It was certainly a nice change.  I spent 3 days visiting my cousin's family in Seattle.  We had a wonderful time sight seeing and just spending time together.  It rained a lot, but I guess that's what's expected in November.

Nov. 6 - 10

Dear Grade Four Families,

We had a fun on Tuesday all dressed up in our Halloween costumes.  Your child may have told you that the teachers were dressed as 101 Dalmatians.  Mrs. Moorehead was Cruella de Vil, while Mr. Kelly and Mr. Kirkham were dressed as dog catchers!  Unfortunately, some children were not familiar with the movie.  The younger kids thought we were dressed as Paw Patrol characters!  Oh well...it was still lots of fun!

On Friday, we found out how much money was raised for the walkathon.  $63,802.40 was the total amount!!! Wow! That's truly amazing!  I'm feel so blessed to be part of a community that is so committed and generous to making St. Paul School the best!
